Be ye also doers of the world and not hearers only deceiving your own selves

Go with God.

Wielding the strongest weapon ever,  David could not have lost to Goliath.

David came to a special battle with a special weapon so he won,  Goliath came to a special battle with an ordinary weapon so he lost.

What does the scripture say

1 Samuel 17:45 KJV
Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

So many weapons in the hands of Goliath.  A shield,  sword,  and spear,  just like you are confronting your psychological Goliath of unemployment with many certifications and degrees which all still don't guarantee employment Victory

But David was holding a sling shot only,  and it was a sling shot forged in the power of God himself.

You know there is a myth of a Camelot king called Arthur, who won every battle, even when he was outnumbered about one thousand to one, and legend had it that he wielded a sword forged in the breath of a magic dragon.

So what if we carry a weapon forged in the breath of God?

Like David, let's carry our weapon and soak it in the name of God

You can face joblessness with your certificates and PhD. But you may remain unemployed until you soak those certificates in the name of God

If you think hard work is the solution to poverty or that your smartness is the right weapon to reason out a perfect investment,  you will fail.

Everything a believer hopes to succeed at must be done in the name of God.

Never face a strong enemy with a weak weapon and don't try solving a spiritual problem with physical process. Triumph is only guaranteed if you go in the name of God, you will always win.

Fighting temptations

I remember very vividly my experience with masturbation and pornography as an addiction. It was an ugly experience

Unmarried and a perfect avoider of sex in itself. I found that I still had the same desire as every promiscuous youth,  I just took care of mine some other way rather than fornication, but sin is sin right?

At almost every junction if my life, I would once more take the resolve to quit but it would turn out futile, because at best I will lay off it for a few days, (not so many days now maybe just 2days sometimes)  and then the demons will crawl out to me in my secret place again.

I never really understood what was going on until I got an understanding of the verse we are studying today.

Luke 4:13 KJV
And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

I got to realise from the scripture above that at best the devil will leave you every time you prayerfully and through the word of God resist him like Jesus,  but He is only gonna hang around,  he is coming back after a short season.

The ferocity of the satanic retry to make a man fall is always far more intense than all the earlier attempts.

I couldn't overcome because I thought that if I resisted the devil it would be once and for all,  and that if I pray about it and decide to stop, the problem would be over forever, but that was a joke

Truth is devils  only leave for a season.  And when the demons crawl out again in the secret place,  you must be spiritually awake enough to resist again and even in a much stronger way than ever. Else he will always win.

The devil left Jesus for a while, he sometimes leaves us for a while too,  but we should be conscious and cautious, he will be back and that's a promise!

To overcome addiction to sin,  you must be ready to face him anytime and be determined to always prayerfully win.

God help us to speak life.

Evelyn Law's debut single -I need you

Evelyn Law's first song seems to be taking over the Lagos gossip so quickly.  With powerful words of expressions which make the lyrics something to remember in good times and hard times,  this song seems to teach us to remind God of our total reliance on Him.

Her professional music skills added to her God given talent and the huge portfolio that the grace of God has established for her just seems to make the whole gist more interesting.

No matter what I say I can't well enough describe the song or the singer.  Download and see for yourself.

Tomorrow is a good reason

While some people are alive today suffering today because of their fathers wickedness while some are alive enjoying because of the benevolence their early fathers showed.

Listen to me,  what you do will speak for generations

2 Samuel 9:7 KJV
And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

In the passage above David sent for Mephiboseth To Help him and feed him simply because Jonathan his father has been a kind man.

Like I always say,  tomorrow is one of the dangerous reasons why we must be nice today

Because what we do today will speak tomorrow.

There was this western president in history whose children didn't secure admission in any university of their nation because their father was an awful ruler.

His children had to travel down to african
Shores to obtain education and secure jobs.

One of the ways you can ensure that ni wicked father transfers a curse upon you is to call him out on his wickedness

Don't keep quiet until you see him Change.  Tell him to be nice because he will be long gone by the time you and your children are reaping his wickedness

Finally I pray that this week someone will Favor you for your fathers sake and that if you had a wicked father a merciful person will forgive his actions and still go ahead to Favor you.

Be nice in your time and speak life

Understand your errors

Psalm 19:12 KJV
Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults .

While the average Christian is just about always right In His own eyes, it will be nicer if most of us try to see reason when we are corrected.

God will prefer it if we can be humbled to understand our errors rather than argue the hell out of whoever tries to correct us

A Christian that understands his errors is easily cleansed from secret faults and better guaranteed eternal life as seen in scripture above

Secret faults are those things we do that are wrong but we don't know that they are wrong or that we even do them at all

They are the most dangerous class of sins as they can silently draw a person to hell, after that he has completely dealt with obvious sins like fornication, stealing, and other likes.

Unforgiviness,  pride,  maliciousness, anger, lies,  etc are secret faults. The carriers never even know

You can not always be right,  and when two to three persons seem to be complaining the Same thing about you,  they can not all be wrong

See 2cor13:1. Two or three witnesses make it worth a consideration.

Be reflective,  speak life.  #thealtar2day

Precept upon precept 2

Isaiah 28:10 KJV
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Another truth in same scripture we are currently studying is that you can not have had enough. And the addition of a new truth should not wipe away the old one.

Many Christians as they climb the ladder of faith begin to drop the fundamental truths they got at the beginning, outrightly thereby forgetting that these truths guided them in the race thus far.

The fact that you discover a below precept you must live by does not mean you will throw away all others carelessly

In the days of the law if you can remember,  failing in one meant failing in all.

In the day of grace,  it is a little different but the truth is if you fall south if grace at one point,  you are out of grace at every point until you get restored.

Don't erase the foundation,  build on it.

Jesus said I have come to fulfil the law not destroy it.  Greek word for fulfil there directly translates to "complete" (add to something to make it entire).

Precept my friend must be laid upon precept and every next line on the former line.

Precept upon precept

Isaiah 28:10 KJV
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

My shout out today goes to all Christians everywhere who after a couple of programs and meetings just get tired of fellowshipping in God's presence

The truth is you can not get it all in one meeting.

All the word you need to carry on,  all the miracles you need,  all the spiritual truth you need to live by,; no it is impossible to get it all at just a few meetings.

Bible says here a little,  there a little..  Especially when an arrangement has been made such that precept can be added upon precept and each line of truth can fall upon another line

This shouldn't be too deep for is now.  In one meeting a little,  in another meeting a little more.

We grow further,  we get transformed,  renewed,  and more and more as we see the day approaching,  we must never get tired of assembling to worship

As a family let's have a devotion ,  as a community of Friends let's have a fellowship,  as a church a service,  as a unit let there be meetings. And don't ever get tired

If you are avoiding church because of pastors and their excesses thee days,  Just remember that the pastor didn't die for you,  Jesus did and it is Christ that is calling you in church not pastor

Don't shun the call of Christ. He wants to always have you come around.  Don't miss.

We speak life.
